Opal
Opal is a ball jointed doll I am working on; after scrapping previous versions I decided to continue improving the sculpt until I created her.
Images in this gallery show Opal sculpted in paper earthenware clay with terra sigillatta applied to the surface and bisque fired. She is loosely strung for testing purposes. I used her body parts to create plaster moulds for slip casting in porcelain.
