I have owned this doll house for years now! Somehow I never really got to finish it. It took me a while to choose the colour scheme and I finally painted it last summer. The interiors are still undecorated - I ordered some furniture, wallpapered the walls... And than decided I did not like what it looked like and decided to change it completely. So right now it looks very pretty on the outside and pretty bad inside... But I'll get to it. The dollhouse is in 1:12 scale, which is much to small for my dolls to "live" in. I have a thing or two in mind for it, though. I absolutely adore dollhouse miniatures for their level of detail, intricacy and realism. I can easily get lost in that tiny alternative universe. Isn't it just charming?

what a nice project to have, and be able to work on in-between time, inspires me to try my hand on a doll house of my own!

Miniatures
Hi Annina,
Thank you so much!
It took a lot of consideration. In the end I picked a colour scheme close to my heart (somewhat similar to the house I grew up in...).
I would definitely encourage being creative in every possible way! If you want to try miniatures, but feel that a whole dollhouse might be a slightly too elaborate to begin with, you can give room-boxes a go. They are displays in miniature scale that only represent a single scene (a living room, kitchen, nursery, store front or any other setting, including outdoorsy ones, you can think of!). Completing a project like that might be easier, and the main thing here is to have fun! There are lots of helpful websites, books and other resources available and a huge network of enthusiasts, too.
Enjoy :)
