I returned to my studio a number of days ago, making preparations for creating new dolls. My winter hybernation could not last forever!
As I was getting some stuff ready, I kept checking the website for comments, too. I noticed the vast majority of them are, unfortunately, spam. (This is the reason why currently comments have to be approved - there is no censorship involved, trust me. All it means is that I weed out the fake ones - all genuine comments are published, as long as they are legitimate.) All kinds of weird nonsense flooded the comments section in such vast quantities I spent a significant amount of time clearing it. Finally, after removing all of that rubbish, I decided I was fed up with it and that it was time to change a couple of things around, so there are plans for some updates. I hope the new developments will go smoothly and happen without causing any disruptions. You can be sure all precautions will be taken to make everything work, but I wanted to let you know just in case there are some difficulties.
While I am firing the kiln with doll parts in it, I thought I'd show you something fun I discovered. It's called "Magnetic Poetry" and is a very amusing way of playing with words. I came across it in a second-hand bookshop. The set consists of a box full of words pritnted on magnets. The inventor apparently came up with this idea while trying to overcome writer's block. Walls of my studio are metal and as a result the entire interior is one giant magnetic notice board. Now I can make notes using these little rectangular pieces, or use them in connection with written words - I always have a few reminders of things to remember hanging around! Not much of a poet myself, but I do enjoy word-play. The convenience of having them scattered around like this is that it's really easy to make connections and form odd and inspiring combinations, like the one I came up with this morning, pictured: live to share beauty. Lets make it a motto for this year :)
